Stylescapes are in style.

Stylescapes are a unique design planning tool and an important element of our brand development process. Scroll down to see our Stylescapes in action and learn why they’re so important!

Designing the visual aesthetic of a brand is a major job – and one we do exceptionally well at Powell Creative.

Part of the secret to our success? The Stylescape.

What is a Stylescape?

At its core, a Stylescape is a collection. It's a collection of brand assets such as colors, images, textures, and typography combined together by a designer, curated for your business to communicate a specific look and feel.

The Stylescape bridges the gap between design thinking and visual design and defines the visual direction.

Instead of relying on us to describe your design direction, a Stylescape shows you. It gives you a crystal-clear picture of the deliverables ahead and helps you understand what we’re working on.

Our Process.

So how do we know how to create your unique Stylescape? It’s all in the level of detail.

Over the years, we’ve developed a thorough questionnaire that helps us understand every facet of your brand identity. We explore how you see your brand now and what your desired brand looks like in the near future. And we ask specific questions designed to help you dig deeper into your brand voice, personality, and vibe.

Bonus: This questionnaire usually helps businesses understand their own brand voice, story, and goals more clearly!

Once you’ve completed the questionnaire, we’ll sit down with you to go over it in person. This gives you a chance to clarify your answers, and we can ask any follow-up questions. After our discussion, we send you a digital copy of our notes to ensure everyone is on the same page.

Then the fun begins!

Once we’re clear on the varied elements of your brand, it’s time to start designing.

Our talented team usually puts together 2-3 different Stylescapes for you. These range from mild to spicy and give you a visual representation of the different directions we can take your design.

You’ll look over the Stylescape options (we’re happy to answer any questions or weigh in with our thoughts) and choose the version you want to proceed with. After any remaining feedback, we move ahead with the final approved Stylescape.

THE RESULT:

A comprehensive representation of the visual aesthetic direction for your brand.
